 The red Devils of Belgium clashed with the Atlas Lions of Morocco at the Al Thumama stadium In Qatar this afternoon.

This was the second game for both teams at the ongoing 2022 fifa world cup in Qatar. The game ended 0-2 in favour of the Atlas Lions.

The two teams rolled out a strong starting eleven for this very crucial Group F game. Below is the lineup for both teams;

Belgium

(GK) Thibaut Courtois, Thomas Meunier, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Timothy Castagne, Amadou Onana, Axel Witsel, Thorgan Hazard, Eden Hazard, Kevin Debryne, Michy Bathuayi.

 Morocco

(Gk) Monir El- kajoui, Nayef Aguerd, Romain Saiss, Achraf Hakimi, Noussair Mazraoui, Salim Amallah, Sofyan Amrabat, Azzedine Ounahi, Hakim ziyech, Youssef En- Nesyri, Sofyan Boufal.


Analysis And Stats

In the first half, Belgium dominated possession with about 70 % leaving only the remaining 30% to the North Africans. They had more shots on goal 8 to Morocco's 3, but only one was on target. They dominated proceedings but it was The North Africans who got the first goal though, it was ruled out by VAR decision for offside.

In the second half, the North Africans improved their game and had more control over the game. They had a total of six shots and two resulted in goals. The first goal was scored on the 73' minute by Abdelhamid Sabiri who came on as a second half substitute in place of Achraf Hakimi. The second goal came on the 90' minute. It was scored by Zakaria Aboukhlal assisted by the 'Poster Boy' Hakim ziyech. There were two yellow card in the game and they were equally shared among both teams. There were also a total of ten corners in the game, 9 went to the 'Devils' and the remaining one went to the winners, Morocco.


Morocco currently top Group F with four point from two games. This win makes the North Africans the second African representative  to record a win at the ongoing world cup in Qatar, after Senegal who beat host nation Qatar. Ghana, Cameroon, and  Tunisia, are yet to record a win. This win means The Atlas Lions have won only three games  in world cup competitions throughout their history.
