2022/23 Uefa Champions league draw: Liverpool vs Real Madrid, PSG vs Bayern Munich and others

  The draw for the knockout round of the 2022/23 Champions League is out. Fans of some football teams, have met this draw with excitement, while others complain.

Below is the draw result;

Leipzig vs Manchester City

Club Brugge vs Benfica

Liverpool vs Real Madrid

Ac Milan vs Tottenham

Frankfurt vs Napoli

Dortmund vs Chelsea

Inter Milan vs porto

PSG vs Bayern Munich

Liverpool vs Real Madrid and Psg vs Bayern Munich appear to be the highlights of this draw. The tie will start on the 14th of February 2023.

1. Leipzig vs Mancity ; these two teams have met two times in recent history and city have the upper hand. Notably a 6-3 win at the Ethihad, at the group stages of this competition last season.

2. Club Brugge vs Benfica

These two teams have never met in any competition.

3. Liverpool vs Real Madrid

These two teams have met a total of eight times in this competition. Madrid have won in majority of the games, including two final victories. One in 2018 and the other in the just ended 2021/22 season.

4. Ac Milan vs Tottenham

These two teams have met two times in this competition In 2005. It was quarter final fixture. The first leg ended 0-0 and the second leg ended 1-0 in favour of Tottenham.

5. Frankfurt vs Napoli

 These two teams have never met in this competition.

6. Dortmund vs Chelsea

This is the first time these two teams will meet in a European competition.

7. Inter Millan vs Porto

These two teams have met four times in this competition. The first tie was in the 2004/5 season. It was a quarter final fixture and inter Milan won the tie 3-1. The second tie was in the group stages in the 2005/6 season and inter won both home and away.

8. PSG vs Bayern Munich

These two teams have met a total of five times in this competition. Super Bayern won three out of the five, including the Victory in the final of the 2019/2020 season.

Expectations

Some teams considering their pedigree in Champions League football and their form currently, are expected to make light works of their opponents and advance to the next round. Super Bayern Munich comes first, followed by real Madrid, Mancity, Chelsea, Inter, then Napoli and Benfica.

However the final results of the matches could go any way as the matches will be played after the world cup and there could be injuries or some players could lose form.
