Fc Barcelona's recent poor run

Fc Barcelona's poor run in the champions league, is posing so much question, and one of them is, is xavi the man to lead this Barcelona team considering his inexperience?

To start with, Xavi appeared to have done a great job at Al sadd in Qatar. But managing Barcelona seems to be a step up for him. His team appears to be doing well in la Liga but they are struggling in the champions league. A lose and a draw with inter Milan in their recent games, coupled with the defeat against super Bayern Munich are proofs.

Furthur more, his team targets so much possession. He tries to maintain Barcelona's philosophy that is keeping the ball. This makes teams to just sit back and absorb the pressure and with any chance hit them on the counter. This style is no longer effective in modern football and it's holding them back. They struggles to break teams down and to score goals, yet, when they do they concede as many as they score. It seems he does not get his tactics right. The wins in the domestic league are against teams that are weak compared to the UCL teams. One could argue that players use their quality to win this games instead of tactics; hence the struggles against UCL teams which are tactically drilled.

Again, Xavi's recent struggles is another proof of young managers struggling to coach big names. We can mention Frank lampard's second season at Chelsea, pochetino's time with PSG, Mikel Arteta's early years at Arsenal among others. One could argue that, pep Guadiola excelled as a young coach at Barcelona, but not everyone can be pep Guardiola.

Last but not least, What happened to this young coaches mentioned above is the same thing happening to xavi. With this proofs can we say he is not the right man for the job? Did he take the job so early?

To conclude, Arteta appears to have found another gears after he has been afforded so much time. Should xavi also be afforded time or be replaced with an experienced coach?
