German squad for World cup 2022: 17 year old moukoko called up, 2014 hero gotze in

 The German football federation has announced their squad for the 2022 fifa world Cup in Qatar. The squad list is greeted with different opinions; some football fans agree to some names included, while others disagree.

Below is the squad list;

Goalkeepers : Manuel Neuer, Marc Andre ter stegen, Kevin trap.

Defence; Amel bella kotchap, Mathias Ginter, Christian Gunter,Thilo kehrer, Lukas Klosterman, David Raum, Anthony Rudiger,Nico schlotterbeck, Niklas sule.

Midfield/ Attack; karem Adeyemi, Julian Brandt, Niclas Fullkrug, Serge Gnabry, Leon GoretzKa, Mario Gotze, Ikay Gundogan, Kai Havertz, Jonas Hoffman, Joshua Kimmich, Youssoufa Moukoko, Jamal Musiala,Thomas Muller, Leroy sane.

Notable omissions; there is only one notable omission from this squad. That player is Timo 'Turbo' Werner. He could not make the cut due to an injury he picked up in Leipzig's final champions league group match against Shaktar Donetsk. Head coach of the national team, Hansi Flick described the situation as 'very sad'.

Surprise Inclusions: there are some players, whose inclusion on this list comes as a surprise to some fans. They are; Moukoko, Musiala, schlotterbeck, Havertz, Sule and Mario Gotze. 

The trio of Moukoko, Musiala and schlotterbeck's inclusion comes as a surprise to many considering their age. Havertz and sule were not expected to make the list considering their poor form of late. 

However, Mari Gotze's inclusion is the highlight of all the names surprisedly included in this list. This is because, he has not played for the national since 2017, about five years now. Adding to this, his form has not been that good. Some football fans are of the view that, he was included based on his heroics at the 2014 world Cup in Brazil. The competition where he scored the winner against Argentina, in the final, to hand over the trophy to Germany.

I will conclude by saying, whether or not we disagree this is the sqaud that the German Federation think will help country at the word cup.
